ANTI GRAVITATION AND DREAM SERIES
The series about Dreams, Anti Gravitation and Visions are dedicated to human conditions: emotions, wishes, attitudes, tendencies, even confusion and in the general – the state of mind. They are the result of long process including preliminary sketches, photographic work and layout for the entire composition. Numerous layers are blend to construct the details, complete a distinct image, and convey the meaning behind each piece. Some of the ideas of my work are literal, and others are symbolic. Although the beholder can interpret each piece of artwork according to their own unique perspective, there are stories that have inspired their creation.
THE TRAJECTORY OF MICHEL ANGELO DYING SLAVE
This work was created in reverence to Michelangelo, one of the best artists on earth, and is a product of a life-long exploration of the meaning and symbolism of the artist's original work, “The Dying Slave”. By looking at this piece, one can begin to doubt that it is a representation of death, but that of a person with a great weight on his soul and in state of tiredness. In fact, “Dying Slave” was the title given by an art historian and may not be true to Michelangelo's intent.
The trajectory of the figure from standing to a reclining position suggests that he possibly needs some rest. The bars of the foreground recall those of a prison; a symbol of one not being free. The symbolism from Michelangelo's point of view ought to be that man is a slave on earth and only upon death his soul is free. Nevertheless, here is this interpretation.

VISIONS OF ANCIENT WALLS
The concept behind this piece is nostalgia. My idea was to depict a story and setting where one is inclined to contemplate the past. Often people avoid thinking about the past, but in reality the past is all we have in the present time. We plan often for the future—and we should—but there is no guarantee about what will happen to us or how we would evolve. There is certainty and almost a tangible quality in the past. The photo in the background illustrates a section of a Roman house a Herculanum. In the foreground are photos from the Naples Museum Archaeological Museum. In depicting the vastness and age of the historic setting in contrast to the lone modern figure lost in thought, the intent is to evoke awe of the past and contemplation of mankind's roots and experiences. As the present becomes a part of the past while one reads this sentence, the past becomes real in the present through antiquity and art.
DIRECTION OF WIND
The meaning of this composition is about free spirits that are capable of traveling to any place. It applies to the intellectual and emotional forces powerful enough to bring us to unknown and exiting distance. It is an allegory about the free spirit of human beings who are perpetually restless in search of unknown territories that may rest either inside their minds or directed outward, toward the universe.
DREAM BATH
For many of us, our environment is of great importance. It is not necessarily because of the aesthetics of the architectural design or natural scenery. Rather, it is an emotion evoked that makes us feel serene, restful, and a place where thoughts can run freely. It is a feeling of belonging to a place where one can be lost in deep thought, a place that is either physical or within one’s own mind.. “Dream Bath” refers to such a unique state of being, of that space we see in our mind or create in our surroundings to feel calm, undisturbed and safe.
INTERIORS
I posited (courageously) that Leonardo da Vinci, famous for his greatly advanced technical discoveries and inventions, lives among us today. Then I envisioned he would be deeply immersed as an inventor and innovator in today’s new technologies and would use all tools available in his creative work. A Renaissance angel (descended from a Botticelli painting) doesn’t seem surprised or shocked, but only curious about the panels with modern vases.
FURNITURE IN AIR #1
The furniture flying around is meant to depict a feeling that the world or life itself is upside down. The flying objects represent just that: a sort of visual cacophony along with pensive figures toward the bottom who do not understand their place, nevertheless try to stay detached from the chaotic movement of the known and unknown forces. The images also convey some ideas about the state of temporary helplessness.
FLOATING IN SPACE
This piece belongs both to the dream series and to the anti-gravitation series of my compositions. It has the subtle movement of our dreams, unrestricted by the solid matter of the real world. It refers also to the state of escapism.

SLIPING UNDER RIBBONS
The intention of this piece was to evoke emotions of lightness and peace. It is a young woman at rest with ribbons encompassing and almost cradling her body. Their fluidity represents an imaginary gentle curtain between her and the rest of the world. Her closed eyes and relaxed form so still and calm indicate she is safe from nightmares, worries and fears as she sleeps.
GOD'S GAMES
A type of mythological Greek gods seen at one end of the picture are watching emotionless several inclosed figures. To me the gods are more a symbol of the infinite expanse of the universe with is variability (changeability, uncertainty) than that of supernatural beings.
I developed this theme during the quarantine for COVID_19 virus and chose this title because we all felt pretty helpless as if our fate was playing with us. Confined and isolated from one another, we were trying to realize the significance of this phenomenon.
